Integrative Medicine

Integrative medicine is not just a catchy title for what was formerly known as holistic healthcare. It is a title that embodies the professional organization of integrative healthcare providers through an association that teaches, educates, and informs about integrative models of health. The professional AIHM organization was established to help professionals incorporate integrative healthcare into their health practice.

IHPC envisions a world with no barriers to health. According to their mission, “We plan to eliminate barriers to health through health creation, collaboration, patient-centered care, inclusivity, empowerment, respect, transparency, integrity, mindfulness, and fairness.”

The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) is the Federal Government’s lead agency for scientific research on complementary and integrative health approaches. We are 1 of the 27 institutes and centers that make up the National Institutes of Health (NIH) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
